The great modernist country house of the Marquet de les Roques was built by the architect Juli Batllevell, at the end of the 19th century, on the remains of an ancient masia of the 13th century. This building is located in a privileged place at the foot of the Montcau, at the bottom of the Vall d’Horta and inside the  Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac. The Marquet de les Roques was the holiday home of the family of Joan Oliver, also known as Pere Quart, and it was a place where the poet spent long seasons.
