The Celler Cooperatiu is a modernist work by the architect César Martinell, who only saw a part of the ambitious project that had been designed.
The origin of this building dates back to 1921, when a group of local vine growers founded the Sindicat Vitivinícola and Caixa Rural de Sant Medir, a cooperative that was intended to make wine together to get a high performance. This trade union promoted the construction of a cooperative winery for wine-making and conservation of the wine until its sale.
Currently, a permanent exhibition explains the process of elaboration of the wine and the transformation of the agricultural Sant Cugat into the present municipality.
