The Museu d’Art de Cerdanyola – Can Domènech is located in a modernist building designed by the architect Gaietà Buïgas, the first theatre-casino of summer visitors. Later, it was renovated by Eduard M. Balcells to turn it into a summer house and, years later, it hosted a pharmaceutical laboratory.
The Museu d’Art de Cerdanyola has as its main objective the research, conservation and dissemination of the artistic heritage of the municipality, focusing especially on the modernist, noucentista and art déco periods. The cultural equipment carries out temporary exhibitions of self-production or in collaboration with other entities, lectures and cycles of modern and contemporary art, music and performances, poetry and literature, publications, and a whole series of dissemination activities aimed to the school public, general or specific.
The Museu d’Art de Cerdanyola also coordinates the municipal exhibition room Espai Enric Granados, with exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art, photography and culture.
