A day of nature, heritage and sport in Matadepera

Do you want to walk quietly in the surrounding nature of Matadepera? Or maybe you prefer a bike route?

And in the afternoon, a cultural route or play some golf?

A proposal to spend a day full of activities in Matadepera!

MORNING

We propose you to start the day taking the Route of tla Pedra Seca, a leisurely walk that will allow you to get to know the beautiful natural environment of Matadepera and the heritage that has been preserved there, linked to agriculture and the use of forest resources.

Circular route

Departure and arrival point: Mas de Can Solà del Racó (now, Masia La Tartana)

Approximate duration: 1h 20 min.

Distance: 3.8 Km

You will find all the information here.

We will leave the Mas de Can Solà del Racó (now calles Masia La Tartana) and pass by the Font de la Tartana, a fountain covered by a vault, with benches next to it and surrounded by red rocks. Considering that this is a circular route, on the way back you can stop for a moment to rest in this pleasant space.

What can’t you miss on this route?

La Font de la Tartana

The walls and the stone beams: which allow us to glimpse the agricultural past of the territory.

The vegetation: oaks and white pine forest.

The dry-stone huts: shelters for farmers and storage places for agricultural tools and spices.

The lime kilns (Forn d ‘En Ton and Forn d ‘en Corcola): you will find explanatory panels to know the uses and history of these kilns.

You will find the tracks of the route on this link.

But maybe you want a more active route!

For the most daring, we propose a mountain bike route! This is the route of the Masies de Llevant (Farmhouses of the East).

Circular route

Departure and arrival point: Plaça de Sant Jordi in Matadepera

Duration: 1 h 30 min

Distance:12 km

This itinerary will allow you to visit the beautiful natural environment of Matadepera and discover some old farms: Can Gorina, Can Solà del Racó, Can Torres and Can Vinyers. You will find the route information here.

WHERE TO HAVE LUNCH

After this very active morning, you deserve a good meal! If you feel like having a picnic, we suggest the Recreation area of the Torrent de l’Escaiola. This is a picnic area with bar service, table and grill rentals, and public toilets. You must check the conditions and reserve the space in advance.

If you prefer a restaurant, in Matadepera you will find different options, search and choose the one that suits you best! You can find out about the different establishments here.

AFTERNOON

In the afternoon, we propose two very different activities.

Choose the one that suits you best!

Would you like to make a route to discover the cultural and historical heritage of Matadepera? The route “del Camí Ral a l’estiueig” will allow you to discover the evolution of Matadepera: from the formation of the urban center of Camí Ral (which connected Barcelona to Manresa) to the impact of summer tourism. This route crosses the city center and you can see: the Hostal de la Marieta (built in 1769); the Plaça de Cal Baldiró (a space that was a dance and theatre hall that welcomed the inhabitants who polarized the social and political life of Matadepera); the church, the bell tower and the presbytery, and Ca l ‘Aldavert (work of the modernist architect Bonaventura Bassegoda, between 1890 and 1897, and where the poet Àngel Guimerà spent some summers). Oh! Make sure to visit some local shops!

You can find detailed information about the route here.

Do you want to take an introductory golf course at the Municipal Golf Course of Matadepera?

This golf course offers several formulas to start this sport, individually or as a family. To this end, it offers an initiation family pack and one Sunday a month they do an open house that includes free group lessons.

You can consult the terms and conditions here. Starter classes come at a cost and must be booked in advance.
