The Sant Cugat Musuem is a decentralized entity that has the objective of promoting the research, conservation and dissemination of the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of Sant Cugat from a comprehensive point of view.
The monastery is the central and most emblematic see of the Museu de Sant Cugat, which includes the secondary office of the Museu del Tapís Contemporani – House Aymat, the modernist wine cellar César Martinell and the Roman villa of Can Cabassa, which is in process of musealization.
The monastery of Sant Cugat is considered one of the most well preserved monastic ensembles of Catalonia. You can also visit a permanent exhibition which allows to discover the origin and the architectural evolution of this monastic ensemble over the centuries and of the Benedictine community that lived there.
