The Museu de la Ciència i la Tècnica de Catalunya is headquartered in the Vapor Aymerich, Amat i Jover, an old factory dedicated to the production of woollen fabrics, located in Rambla d’Ègara of Terrassa.
Currently you can visit the modernist steam with all parts preserved: coal cellars, boilers, steam engine and a machine room of 11,000 m2 with a saw tooth roof made with Catalan vault of flat brick that rests on cast iron columns. Note that the building, with permanent and temporary exhibitions, is considered one of the finest examples of Catalan industrial Modernism.
The Museum features an exterior patio, an auditorium with sound booth for simultaneous translation and several rooms which, like the Auditorium, include microphones for conferences, projector for presentations in computerised form, video and DVD. It also has a restaurant and a cafeteria with terrace.
