During the modernist time, the old center of Rubí saw a series of constructions that reflected the new architectural trends of the time being born: not only homes but also public buildings and factories where a good part of the neighbors of the village went to work. The route covers the most emblematic spaces of this period, while highlighting the evolution of the village, the old industrial sector and the origins and transformation of the historical center.
WHAT WILL WE SEE?
The route runs through the center of Rubí. Visitors can learn about the Town Hall or the old house Rufé, with an entrance platform hold by Doric columns; The Pelleria, which in 1921 was the most important factory of Rubí; the Pharmacy Feixas, where you can see some white columns that frame the entrance; the Escoles Evangèliques, constituted by a church in a Neo-Gothic style and some schools that have a typical modernist technique, and finally Cal Vilaró, where there had lived the writer Olga Xirinachs.
