Discover the industrial age of Sabadell

modernisme

The city of Sabadell became the first city of woollen textile production and therefore received the nickname of Catalan Manchester. This intense activity has left its mark on the urban landscape of the city where there are still some factories and chimneys, as well as other unique buildings linked to the textile activity.

WHAT WILL WE SEE?

This itinerary in the city center of Sabadell passes by Cal Sampere, that with its unique clock tower warned of the change of shift to workers, the Vapors Codina, Badia, Pissit and Buixeda Vell, the old station of the Northern Railway, which explains the importance of the arrival of the train to Sabadell in 1855, and emblematic buildings such as the Hotel Suís, the Despatx Lluch or the Teatre Principal, among others.
