Santa Maria de Palau is a temple of Romanesque origin, documented since the 12th century and remodelled between the 14th and 16th centuries.
It seems that originally it was a temple of Greek cross with a perpendicular orientation to the one that it currently has. In the interior of the church, it is worth noting the 16th century altarpiece of the Master of Artès, the baroque altarpiece in the side chapel of the Rosary and the front of the altar of ceramics made by Llorenç Passoles, a prominent 17th century Catalan ceramist.
