The church of Santa Maria de Barberà, also known as La Romànica (The Romanesque), is a construction of the 12th century. It is necessary to emphasize the constructive system, with the use of ashlars of three different colours and the decorations of the walls with blind arches, Lombard bands and saw teeth.
It is very important the painting collection from the Romanesque period that is preserved in the interior of the building, discovered in 1919 under a layer of lime. These wall paintings represent scenes from the Old and New Testament.
